FIBA Europe President Mr. Olafur Rafnsson and FIBA Europe Secretary General Mr. Nar Zanolin met Tuesday a delegation from ULEB (Union of European Leagues of Basketball), headed by President Eduardo Portela, at the FIBA Europe headquarters in Munich, Germany.

This meeting comes after Mr. Rafnsson┬┤s election last June and the will on both sides to work jointly. The Leagues have expressed their points of view on the current situation of European basketball and have offered ideas to keep developing it.

The FIBA Europe representatives have been receptive to the comments of the Leagues and have shown a strong will to keep working to improve European basketball in all its aspects.

After the meeting, FIBA Europe President Mr. Olafur Rafnsson stated: "We are very happy with the meeting and its outcome. We have taken a historical step and hopefully this is the start of a long and fruitful relationship with ULEB."

ULEB President Eduardo Portela agreed with the fact that this has been a historical meeting, adding that "it opens a new perspective of mutual working relationship and understanding between FIBA Europe and ULEB."
