FIBA Europe Introduces 2006 Player Of The Year Nominees

For the second consecutive year, FIBA Europe will be honouring the best performers on the continent for Men, Young Men, Women and Young Women.

The nominees for each of the categories have been introduced.

A selected panel of journalists, coaches and players from throughout Europe will vote on the top players from each category.

Fans will also have their say when the general public voting becomes available later in the month. A percentage of the general public vote will be factored into the final outcome.

The winners of the award will be announced beginning in January 2007.

The 2005 Players of the Year were:

Men – Dirk Nowitzki
Women – Maria Stepanova
Young Men – Nikos Zisis
Young Women – Anete Jekabsone
