| 05.08.2007 Italy have won the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women Division B final after securing a workmanlike 64-55 victory over Germany.
The Italians edged a tight first half by just three points, 34-31, and after finding themselves unable to pull away in an evenly matched third quarter (16-16), finally stamped their authority on the game in the final period.
A 15-10 final-quarter performance from the Italians secured a nine-point margin at the buzzer. Giulia Pasqualin was the game's star performer, pouring in 20 points, while team-mate Gianna Grenga pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
Finja Schaake led a balanced if basket-shy German attack with just nine points.
In the third-place play-off game, Slovenia edged out Israel 66-61 thanks to Nika Baric's 23-point performance.
Baric's team-mate Tjasa Gortnar dominated the boards with 12 rounds.
Shira Shecht was Israel's star performer, sinking 17 points.
In the classification game to decided the fifth-placed team, Finland trounced Bosnia and Herzegovina 75-48, Vilja Kesanen leading the way with 22 points.
