The second of the 2012 Refresher Clinics for FIBA Referees and Commissioners in Europe has concluded.
The clinic was held from 25-27 May in Freising, Germany.
FIBA Europe Head of Operations Miguel Betancor opened the meeting for the 150 participating officials.
During the three days, various lectures were given, including officiating presentations by Richard Stokes and Alan Richardson from the FIBA Europe Referees Department.
Also on hand was Konstantin Lwowsky who spoke about the modern trends and tactics in the game today.
The former ALBA Berlin assistant coach is currently in charge of ALBA's U16 team in the German youth league JBBL.
Over the three days, the officials had to successfully complete a battery of tests in order to remain active officials for the next four years.
The participants were also given a preview of the 2012 FE/FA Teaching Materials.
The clinic also included break-out group sessions for commissioners and referees to analyze plays chosen by the Referees Department.
The discussions helped to attain greater consistency in what criteria are applied on the court.
One remaining Refresher Clinic is to be held in Freising. The last of the three clinics takes place from 1-3 June.
