What is the FIBA Europe Techno Centre?

The FIBA Europe Techno Centre (FETC) is a FIBA Europe institution that promotes innovation and development based on technological projects.

The main contributions of the FETC are:

•  R&D&I projects evaluation and financing.

•  Technological cooperation programs management and participation.

•  Technologies transfer and support promotion.

•  Technological projects creation and consolidation.

•  Technicians training.

FETC activity is not limited to sport; it is focused as well on socio-cultural and educational activities. Its strategy is based on supporting and promoting applications in a wide range of sectors and especially, but not limited to, the sport environment, trying to reach the highest levels of competitiveness.

Moreover, FETC has an area of technology development focused on disabled people and social development.

FETC projects are divided in the following categories:

1.      Sport technical projects.

2.      Training tools.

3.      Management tools.

4.      Social networks and communication tools.

FETC participates in multidisciplinary collaborative projects, together with other technology centres, companies, universities and research centres.

 Where is the FIBA Europe Techno Centre?

According to the agreement signed on 3rd January 2012 between FIBA Europe and the Canary Islands Government the FETC  will be located in the Scientific and Technology Park of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

When will the FIBA Europe Techno Centre open?

The official Grand Opening will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, on 24th February 2012 at 19:00 (WET).
