Radu Draganescu (09.11.1955 - 22.02.2013)

FIBA Europe was saddened to learn on Friday morning of the passing away of Romanian Basketball acting Secretary General Radu Draganescu.

Draganescu, aged 57, succumbed to a long-term battle with illness.

Draganescu's life was one dedicated to basketball, having played and coached the sport he loved before taking up a position with the Romanian Federation.

In more recent years Draganescu worked as a FIBA commissioner.

Draganescu was in the past a member of the Technical Commission for FIBA Europe Youth, and in more recent years worked closely in the development of Romanian referees.
