Russia reached their third consecutive final at the U20 European Championship Women in 2012, with the thank-you cards this time round addressed to Ksenia Tikhonenko. The center carried her team to the title game, making the difference when it mattered most with a double-double average of 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Russians conceded the trophy to Spain, but were able to rejoice when Tikhonenko was named tournament MVP. Playing on loan for Municipal Targoviste, she is getting her fair share of minutes in the current EuroLeague Women season.
