Emma Meesseman – Belgium and Villeneuve d’Ascq

11. Emma Meesseman (Belgium)

"Emma has all the qualities to become a top European player and I am sure we will hear a lot of her in the future," FIBA Europe President Olafur Rafnsson said when presenting the 2011 Young Women's Player of the Year Award to Emma Meesseman. The 19-year-old center represents the future of Belgian basketball. Having already made an impressive debut with the senior national team back in 2010, Meesseman showcased the heart of a true leader last summer, as she averaged a team-high in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks during the EuroBasket Women 2013 Qualification Round.
