FIBA Europe 3on3 stop in Moscow, 1 September 2012
Moscow was the penultimate stop on the FIBA Europe 3on3 Tour 2012 - and its biggest event everĀ

The FIBA Europe 3on3 stop in Moscow concluded with a new record, as 411 teams came to the Russian capital on Saturday to make the event the biggest ever on the FIBA Europe 3on3 Tour.

The scenery for the new record could not have been more appealing.

Organised in co-operation with the Russian Basketball Federation and Streetbasket Russia, the competition took place directly at the Luzhniki Stadium.

A big festival on occasion of the Day of Moscow, including various concerts and shows, added to the special atmosphere.

In addition to the eight main FIBA Europe courts, 34 extra courts were set up, staging a total of 822 games.

The previous record of 371 games was set in Sheffield earlier this summer, with 197 teams battling it out in 12 categories.

Seven titles in as many age categories were at stake in Moscow, with 288 teams having registered for the category 18+ Men, making it by far the most popular and most contested.

Besides the regular competition, four additional contests were held during the course of the day: a 1on1 and 2on2 contest as well as a three-point and dunking contest.

Artem Gorlamov showcased his skills, winning both the three-point and 1on1 contest.

Team 723 clinched the 2on2 crown, while Prokop put on the best show in the dunking contest.

The FIBA Europe 3on3 Tour 2012 will conclude on 22 September with its final stop in Budapest.
