2013 marked the first year the Georgian capital Tbilisi took part in the 3x3 Worldtour with the Georgian Basketball Federation organising the Tbilisi Open on 6 and 7 July.

Near the Sports Palace of Tbilisi, a total of 32 teams, who were the finalists in a field of 59 initial applicants, were split into eight groups of four for the first round with the top-two in each group securing their spot in the knock-out stages.

The latter stages were streamed live by the Georgian channel TV1, one of the partners of the tournament.

Team And1 lifted the trophy when the final was done and dusted, defeating Pantera 15-11.

Of course the tournament also featured a slam-dunk and three-point contest. Irakli Alkhanaidze won the dunk contest and was later also crowned MVP of the tournament while Nika Nozadze was the winner of the three-point shootout.

And1 did not only win the trophy in Tbilisi, but in addition they will also be invited to EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia to experience the special atmosphere at a EuroBasket Final Round.
