3x3 EuroTour Bratislava: Cancellation

21 June 2013

PRESS RELEASE

The second leg of the 3x3 EuroTour, set for Bratislava from 28th June -30th June, has been cancelled due to circumstances outside of the control of 3x3 EuroTour and FIBA Europe.

FIBA Europe was officially informed on Tuesday morning that their partners in the second leg of the inaugural tour, the Slovak Basketball Association, were unable to fulfill their requirements in order for the event to go ahead.

FIBA Europe advised the Slovak Basketball Association strongly to reconsider their position but an agreement remained unreached.

It was with great regret that FIBA Europe had to force the cancellation, particularly following the success of the inaugural event on the tour, 3x3 EuroTour Bucharest, which took place last weekend.

3x3 EuroTour will resume as planned following the weekend, with the third stop of the tour set to go ahead in Prague on 5th and 6th July.

A statement from the Slovak Federation was not yet forthcoming at the time of this release.
