Montenegro coach Dusko Vujosevic has named a 17-man preliminary squad ahead of the country's first-ever games in EuroBasket Division A.

Panathinaikos center Nikola Pekovic, Vujosevic's former pupil at Partizan Belgrade, and Unicaja Malaga's Omar Cook are the headline names in a team that many expect to qualify for the Final Round in the Baltics.

Pekovic, who captured the Greek title on Sunday with Pana, averaged more than 18 points and almost six rebounds in 10 EuroBasket Division B games while naturalized point guard Cook poured in almost seven points and handed out nearly five assists.

The preparations will get underway on July 4.
