ZVVZ Prague have made a couple of major signings to bolster their challenge next season in the top flight of the Czech Republic and Europe.

Coach Lubor Blazek's Prague, who finished runners-up to Gambrinus Brno in the domestic play-off finals, has signed Croatia's 1.98m national team center Sonja Kireta of Bourges and Halcon Avenida's 1.95m Serbia international Ivanka Matic for the 2008-09 campaign.

Club manager Marek Kucera has confirmed on the Prague website that the two players are to join the side.

Kireta has helped Bourges reach back-to-back EuroLeague Women Final Fours and just celebrated the French title with a triumph over Lattes Montpellier in the play-off finals.

Matic and Avenida travel to Valencia on Wednesday to take on Ros Casares in the deciding game of the best-of-three Liga Femenina finals.
