FIBA Europe Meets With Top European Countries

FIBA Europe and the recently most successful countries in European basketball had a meeting in Istanbul on Saturday.

On the rest-day of the EuroLeague Women Final Eight, the top European countries, represented by those federations that had a team among the last eight of EuroBasket or EuroBasket Women came together with the FIBA Europe Executive Committee.

In the meeting, a number of topics related to the future development of basketball were discussed.

The conclusion was a unanimously united statement towards the commitment to protect the interest of all European federations.

"We had a fruitful exchange of ideas and the atmosphere in the meeting was excellent," stated FIBA Europe President Olafur Rafnsson.

"It is good to experience such a strong coherence among our federations."

For FIBA Europe Secretary General Nar Zanolin, the commitment of all participants to work together was the most important aspect of the meeting.

"I would like to thank all our friends who came here and made this discussion group a success," he said.

"Having everybody on board is essential for the successful development of our sport."
