On June 17, in an unprecedented event for European basketball, 31,004 people gathered in the seven cities which will host EuroBasket 2009 in order to beat the Guiness World Record in dribbling a basketball simultaneously in different places. The event was staged by the Polish Basketball Federation and the Local Organising Committees of EuroBasket 2009 and was broadcast live by the public broadcaster TVP. Finland's games against France and Italy in this summer's EuroBasket 2009 Additional Qualifying Round will be the perfect stage to show the basketball progress that the country has made, according to Henrik Dettmann. Jeff Taylor visited with Finland's national team coach during the recent EuroChallenge Final Four in Bologna, Italy.
