FIBA Europe in cooperation with the Slovenian Basketball Federation will be holding the first International Camp for U15 girls.

Two players and one coach from each FIBA Europe member country will be invited to attend the camp, which will be held in Postojna, Slovenia from 25 – 30 June 2007.

The camp is being organised as part of the Year of Women’s Basketball and is intended to be an annual event in the future.

“We are pleased to be working with the Slovenian Basketball Federation in launching this inaugural camp for U15 girls,” said FIBA Europe President George Vassilakopoulos.

“This camp is one more example that demonstrates FIBA Europe’s commitment to the women’s game.”

“In conjunction with the Year of Women’s Basketball, numerous clinics and camps focusing on player and coaching development have been organised nationally in different countries,” added FIBA Europe Secretary General Nar Zanolin.

“This camp goes a step further in providing training to players and coaches from all 51 FIBA Europe member countries at one location and time.”

“We are delighted to be working with FIBA Europe to stage this international camp for U15 girls,” said Slovenian Basketball Federation Secretary General Iztok Rems.

“I am confident that this camp will serve as an ideal way of developing future female players and coaches in Europe.”
