FIBA Europe Final Fours Determined

FIBA Europe announced today the venues for the upcoming Final Fours for the FIBA Europe League and EuroLeague Women. The events have been awarded to Kiev (Ukraine) and Samara (Russia) respectively.

The FIBA Europe League Final Four will be played in Kiev, Ukraine. The dates for the event are 27th – 28th April, 2005.

The qualified clubs are BC Kyiv (UKR), Dynamo St. Petersburg (RUS), BC Khimki (RUS) and Fenerbahce Istanbul (TUR).

The EuroLeague Women will be played on 22nd – 24th April, 2005 in Samara, Russia.

The qualified clubs are VBM-SGAU Samara (RUS), MiZo Pecs (HUN), Lietuvos Telekomas Vilnius (LTU) and Gambrinus Brno (CZE).

“I would like to extend our thanks to all those clubs who bid to host a Final Four,” said FIBA Europe President Mr. George Vassilakopoulos.

“There was unprecedented interest in hosting both final fours, and all 8 qualified clubs expressed their strong desire to also organize the event.

“Unfortunately we could only pick two venues and we are looking forward to the upcoming final fours in Ukraine and Russia.”
