IWBF Europe is widely considered one of the most proactive among the continental zones that make up the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation, but last weekend was extremely hectic even by the standards of its busy Council Members.

The IWBF Europe Executive Council Autumn Meeting was held at the FIBA Europe offices in Munich, in the presence of FIBA Europe President Olafur Rafnsson.

During the course of two days, IWBF Europe President and FIBA Europe Treasurer Jan Berteling, and IWBF Europe Secretary General Ron Coppenrath made sure that literally no important issue was left untouched.

On the competitions front, the Council members evaluated among others the 2010 European Championships Men Division A and B as well as the European Championship Women and the U22 European Championships. The Council also evaluated EuroCup 2010 and discussed this year's edition of the competition and went through the official calendar till the year 2012.

Development was an important part of the meeting agenda, with topics including the Quackenbr├╝ck Ladies event, the Astra Tech Junior Challenge and Wheelchair Basketball Three on Three (WB33). Clinics, youth development and emerging countries were also discussed.

A report of activities undertaken since the last Executive Council meeting in spring, an overview of the Refresher Clinics 2010 - 2014 and the Updated Referee Database made up the technical part.

Other sections on the agenda included finances, marketing and public relations, and classification.

The meeting concluded with a discussion of actions related to world stage events, such as the 2012 Paralympic Games.

The IWBF Europe Executive Council next meeting is scheduled for spring 2011.
