Ukraine: Opening Wins For BC Kyiv, Khimik

EuroCup sides BC Kyiv and Khimik Yuzhny both claimed victories in their first matches of the Superliga season.

Kyiv, who went through major squad changes during pre-season losing all of their foreign stars, received a boost before their opener with the addition of experienced Ukrainian center Grygorii Khizhniak.

And they went on to seal a 101-79 win at Kharkiv-Politechnik with newcomers Aaron Lukas and Milan Dozed scoring 22 and 17 points respectively.

Khimik had no problems with Pulsar either, defeating them 91-62 in Yuzhny.

Andriy Korochkin and Aleksandr Subara both scored 17 points for the home side while rookie Goran Cakic claimed 15 points for Pulsar in a losing cause.
