Greek EuroCup Sides Suffer Home Losses

06.11.2006

Panionios and Maroussi crashed to home defeats just days before the start of their EuroCup campaigns.

Savas Eliadis had 19 points as Aris won 69-65 at Panionios.

A pair of Panagiotis Kafkis free throws had put Panionios into a 55-53 lead with less than seven minutes to play, but Aris were too good.

Terrell Castle tied the game with two from the stripe, and then followed them up with a three-pointer for a 58-55 advantage.

Andrea Mazzon's Aris stayed in front the rest of the way as Panionios lost for the first time this season in the Greek top flight.

Maroussi, who take on KK Vojvodina Srbijagas in the EuroCup this week, were flattened on their homecourt by Olympiacos, 91-71.

Panionios meet Turk Telekom in their European game.
