Maroussi Too Strong For Nymburk

Maroussi Athens rode a strong first quarter showing to cruise to victory over CEZ Nymburk in EuroCup Group F on Wednesday night.

The Greeks led from start to finish before eventually running out 85-74 victors to improve their record to 2-0.

The hosts came out with all guns blazing and stormed into a 25-5 advantage in less than seven minutes.

The lead stood at 29-11 at the end of the first quarter and remained steady as the first half drew to a close, 51-34.

The hosts eased off in the final quarter, giving the final scoreline a flattering look as far as Nymburk were concerned.

American guard Chris Thomas led a balanced Maroussi attack with 18 points and four rebounds.

Diaz Guillermo managed 21 points in a losing cause for a Nymburk side who have now lost both of their opening two matches.
