Akasvayu Girona moved into third place after edging past Polaris World CB Murcia 81-80.

The Catalonian visitors, who advanced to the final four of the EuroCup on Wednesday night after seeing off Panionios, trailed 63-59 entering the final period but raised their game to take the points.

Marko Marinovic led a balanced Akasvayu attack which featured four players in double figures.

Marcus Fizer had 23 points for Murcia.

Tau Ceramica made the most of Real Madrid's defeat to Barcelona on Saturday by pulling level with the capital club at the top of the ACB thanks to a crushing 96-59 defeat of ViveMenorca.

Madrid went down 73-68 to Barca, meaning their record slipped to 19-6 for the season.

Tau joined them at the summit after thrashing the Balearic Island side, who continue to prop up the rest.

They were led by Brazil international Tiago Splitter, who poured in 22 points and also pulled down seven rebounds.

He was backed up by Serbian Igor Rakocevic (19 points) and Argentinian Olympic gold medalist Luis Scola (17 points).

Chris Moss contributed 18 points for Menorca but received little support.

Fifth-placed DKV Joventut went down 86-76 at Etosa Alicante - Larry Lewis pouring in 22 points, while Estudiantes, who will meet Girona in a tantalising final four clash, saw off Lagun Aro Bilbao Basket 94-86.
