Grays Prompted Charleroi To First Win

Spirou Charleroi picked up their first win in Group K of EuroCup by dispatching Panionios BC Athens 71-64 on Tuesday.

The game was close throughout but Gregory Grays helped pace the Belgians to victory and both teams now have a record of 1-2 in the competition.

The hosts took the first period 20-19 and extended that lead by a further three points to have a 39-35 advantage at the midway point.

The third period was shared 18-18 and then Spirou took the final period 14-11.

Grays was five from six inside the paint and two from seven from downtown.

He converted both his attempts from the free throw line.

Corey Lavelle Brewer added 15, Kris Sergeant 12 and Cyril Akpomedah Grant 11 for the winners.

Kennedy Winston led Panionios in defeat with 14 points while Efstratios
Perperoglou (11) and Aleksandar Subara (10) also made double digit
contributions.
