Adecco ASVEL finished their unsuccessful EuroCup campaign on a high note by thrashing winless Amsterdam Astronauts in a Group H dead rubber on Tuesday.
With both teams having already been dumped out of the competition, only pride was at stake at the Sporthallen Zuid.
And it was ASVEL who comfortably came out on top, center Vincent Masingue (25 points), American Brian Greene (24 points) and fellow forward Laurent Foirest (24 points) doing most of the damage for the Frenchmen.
Greene added nine rebounds to his sizeable points haul, while Rowan Barrett weighed in with a further 22 points and six rebounds.
Big man Peter van Paassen was Amsterdam's top scorer with 15 points, closely followed by Jovo Glavinic (14) and Adam Shea Washington (12).
The game was virtually over as a contest at half-time as the visitors took a 53-32 lead into the dressing room.
They continued to pound the basket after the break, the third quarter ending 78-49 while the misery did not stop for the Dutchmen in the final 10 minutes.
Amsterdam finish with a dismal 0-6 record while Adecco end the campaign third, on 3-3. |
