Adecco ASVEL have signed versatile Canadian Steve Ross on a short term deal as a temporary replacement for the injured Marko Cakarevic.
Ross, who played for Canada at the 2002 FIBA World Championship, joins from Pro B side Levallois and has signed a four-week contract.
He was averaging 16.2 points with Levallois, making him the 12th highest scorer in that division.
The 26-year-old, who can play as a guard or a forward, has also featured for Mulhouse in the second tier.
ASVEL's sporting manager Pierre Grall told the club's official website: "He comes from two good experiences in Pro B and has been training with us since last week.
"He will give us another option on the court."
Serbian Cakarevic, who has been out injured since the start of December, is not expected to return for another month.
ASVEL were knocked out of the EuroCup at the first-round stage, but have qualified for France's Semaine des As, which takes place from February 8-11. |
