Adecco ASVEL forward Laurent Foirest has been ruled out of action for at least four weeks with a back injury.

If the 33-year-old France international requires an operation to cure the problem, he could be sidelined for around three months.

It is the second recent injury blow to hit the Villeurbanne club, who have already been dumped out of the EuroCup and are battling to qualify for Pro A's end-of-season Semaine des As.

Amare Sy is also out at the moment because of injury, and the club has already drafted in LaVell Blanchard as a temporary replacement for the forward.

They could now dip into the transfer market in search of a replacement for Foirest.

The Marseille-born player averaged 11.6 points for ASVEL in the EuroCup this season.
