Brno Continue Czech Dominance

Gambrinus Sika Brno are celebrating a 12th successive Czech Cup after beating ZVVZ USK Prague 79-66 to lift the trophy.

Zuzana Zirkova scored 18 points and Deanna Nolan added 13 as the EuroLeague Women participants continued their utter domination of the domestic game.

They led 42-25 at half-time, and the result never seemed to be in doubt.

"We played better in the first half but I am quite satisfied with my team," said Gambrinus coach Jan Bobrovsky.

"It was not a hard game."

It was revenge for Gambrinus, who had their nine-year league winning streak ended by USK earlier this season.

Although they could not pull that feat off again, USK coach Lubor Blazek was happy with his team's effort in the game.

"We saw a nice game," he said.

"I am satisfied even though there was no doubt who the better team was."

Sviatlana Volnaya led USK - who are also in the EuroLeague Women - with 18 points while Michaela Pavlickova added 17.
