Vojvodina Srbijagas' first win in five EuroCup games this season gave them the motivation to continue their domestic successes in the Nasa Liga.
The leaders of the preliminary phase of the championship won their ninth match in a row by outplaying Radnicki in an 89-72 victory. Captain Ivan Ivanovic was the offensive spark for the undefeated hosts with 24 points, five rebounds and five assists.
"Even though we missed a lot of free throws (11 of 26), which a serious team can't afford to do, I'm happy because my players were really focused in this match," said Vojvodina coach Velimir Gasic.
"Good defence allowed us numerous counter-attacks, but I must say that Radnicki have shown that they have a squad capable of fighting for one of the four places that will lead into the Superleague."
While Vojvodina are runaway leaders, Novi Sad, Masinac and Mega Ishrana are joint-second with a 6-3 record.
Ishrana would have been clear but for a surprise 86-76 home defeat to eighth-placed Zdravlje, with Vukasin Aleksic scoring 17 points.
Novi Sad used a late rally to beat OKK Beograd 83-70 on the road. Marko Sutalo scored seven of his 20 points in the final period as Novi Sad outscored their hosts 25-9.
In the Kraljevo derby, Sloga snapped Masinac's run of four consecutive victories with a 66-55 win, their fourth in a row.
Milos Bojovic scored 12 of his 15 points in the first quarter for Sloga.
Meanwhile, Borac clinched their fifth victory by crushing Ergonom 95-78 after another brilliant performance from 25-year-old playmaker Zoran Osmokrovic who had 25 points, eight assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Swisslion used Vladimir Vlaskovic's 24 points and 21 from Zoran Milovic to defeat strugglers Napredak 91-76. |
