Club director Zoran Jovcic has his work cut out to make an impact in Serbia and Europe this season but he is satisfied with the Vojvodina Srbijagas squad, despite a number of high-profile departures.
One bright spot for Jovcic is Hungarian international Istvan Nemeth, who returned to the club this summer after a two-year spell at Prokom Trefl.
Nemeth has proved a fine leader for a team whose young star, Milenko Tepic, left to join champions Partizan.
"With another player, a forward or power forward, we'll have reached our goal: a good, high quality squad," said Jovcic, whose team returns to the EuroCup for the first time since 2003.
"I'm satisfied with how our coach Gasic and all of our players have worked during summer and the results, including those in Germany, already show we will have a strong team.
Gasic's team won a regional tournament in Tuzla, as well as securing victories over Dusseldorf and German champions Koln on a trip to Germany.
"Our motto is 'we want to create a serious club, for serious results', and I'm sure we are working well on reaching that goal," said Jovcic.
In Europe, Vojvodina will compete against CEZ Nymburk, Maroussia and ASK Riga. |
