Vojvodina kept marching on as the only unbeaten team in the Nasa Liga, beating Beograd 94-80 in the 15th round of the competition.
The EuroCup participants are on the verge of becoming the first team to secure their place in the elite phase of the tournament, where Nasa Liga's best teams will join Partizan, Red Star, FMP and Hemofarm in the regional Adriatic League.
Vojvodina will get a glimpse of the competition to come when they take part in the Radivoj Korac National Cup next week, where they play Red Star in the quarter finals.
"It was very important for us to maintain our unbeaten brecord ahead of the Cup," said Vojvodina coach Velimir Gasic.
"I'm happy tmat, although they relaxed a little, my players achieved another triumph."
Nenad Djordjevic led the way with 20 points.
Miladin Pekovic scored 25 points as Mega Ishrana edged out Swisslion Takavo 85-82 in a tight contest, while Sloga outplayed Ergonom 85-75 as Milos Bojovic poured in 27 points.
Both teams have 10-5 records for joint second in the standings.
Novi Sad narrowly got the better of Masinac 81-80 as Marko Sutalo scored 27 points.
The win gives them sole possession of fourth place after Radnicki were upset by last-placed Napredak who won 87-85.
Predrag Markovic shined for Borac, collecting 26 points and five steals in their 81-70 win over Zdravlje. |
