Career: Joventut Badalona (Spain-ACB, 2001-07)


Spanish flying man, he astonished the basketball world with powerful dunks and alley-oops during the 2006 World Championship in Japan, where he was a solid contributor off of the bench. Named the FIBA Europe Young Player of the Year in 2006, Fernández has continued improving, earning the Euroleague Rising Star trophy and Best Five nomination in the ACB. He keyed Joventut’s run to the 2006 EuroCup title. Fernández combines great scoring abilities with a spirit that leads him to great defensive efforts.  The 22-year-old is a get rebounder for his size and possesses wonderful court vision. When it comes to scoring, Fernández is a reliable long range shooter, while virtually unstoppable on fast breaks.
