Sofia Young was the heroine as defending champions Gambrinus defeated hosts Fenerbahce SK 70-66.
The Czech-based team stormed into a 40-27 lead at the interval, but Fenerbahce took the third quarter 25-16 to set the stage for an intense final quarter.
However, Jan Bobrovsky's women battled bravely to share the last period 14-14 and seal victory against Fener who have dispatched Lotos Gdynia and Valenciennes in an impressive start to Group C.
Young's 23 points and nine boards were instrumental in her team's success and her 100% record from the charity stripe helped make the difference for Gambrinus who had made a shaky start to their title defense in losing to UMMC Ekaterinburg.
Eva Viteckova (14) and Deanna Nolan (11) also made double digit contributions for the Brno.
Cappie Pondexter of Fener managed 16 points in a losing cause.
Birsel Vardarli and Nevriye Yilmaz registered 14 and 12 respectively for the hosts.
