TEO Vilnius boss Rutenis Paulauskas has been confirmed as the new coach of the Lithuania women's national team.

Paulauskas replaces Algirdas Paulauskas, the same man he replaced at the helm of EuroLeague Women side TEO shortly before Christmas - the team that has most of Lithuania's national team players.

Lithuania won their quarter-final against France last year at the EuroBasket but ended up finishing sixth after a disappointing game against  the Czech Republic when a place in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament was at stake.
