USK Prague coach Lubor Blazek is thrilled with the major signings the club has made this summer as they attempt to mount a challenge to Gambrinus Brno in the Czech Republic and to make an impact in the EuroLeague Women.

USA international Swin Cash, Greece national team star Evani Maltsi and two centers - Sonja Kireta of Croatia and Ivanka Matic of Serbia - have joined the Czech team.

"Swin Cash knows how to play both as power or small forward," Blazek said.

"She is great playing inside as well as scoring from outside and she is great on rebounds."

Blazek was in the stands in Brno in April to watch Kireta play at the EuroLeague Women Final Four.

"Kireta was the key player at Bourges,  a great defensive player," Blazek said.

Matic, who has arrived from Perfumerias Avendia, will bring some versatility to Prague.

"Ivanka can score both in the paint or outside of the key and she is a great fighter, she never gives up," Blazek said.

"I am sure Kireta and Matic together with Michaela Pavlickova will make us very strong on the boards.

"And there is another advantage. They are all top-level players so we can substitute without weakening our line-up."

Maltsi, a former Bourges player as well who is coming off a disappointing campaign at Ros Casares, brings offense to Prague.

"Moreover, she is that kind of player who can handle responsibility in the key moments even though the game is not going well for her side," Blazek said.

Prague have also signed the Czech U18 national team point guard Katerina Bartonova.

The 18-year-old arrives from Hradec Kralove where she averaged 8.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest last season in the Czech top flight.
