Krasnye Krylia used a big third quarter to pull away as they moved to 2-0 in Group K of the EuroChallenge with a 77-69 road win at BC Khimik Yuzhne.

The visitors had steadily built up a slight advantage to lead 42-37 at half-time but it was after the break that Krasnye went to work.

A 12-3 spurt moved them into a 57-44 lead on Omar Thomas' lay-up.

Yury Vasiliev's lay-up stretched the advantage to to 62-48, and the lead grew to 15 points when Aaron Miles started the fourth quarter with a three-pointer.

Khimik replied with six straight points but any further efforts at a fightback were hampered by poor shooting from three-point range when they needed it most.

They missed eight three-point attempts in a row in the fourth quarter before Oleksandr Prokopenko finally made one 30 seconds from time with the game out of reach.

With Khimik's shooting off, Krasnye saw it through to the finish untroubled.

Chester Simmons led Krasnye with 16 points while Miles added 15, Thomas 12 and Nikita Balashov 11.

Willie Deane, Sava Lesic and Vitaliy Kovalenko had 13 points apiece for Khimik while Devoe Joseph had 10.
