Eurobasket 2003 website launched


In just over 1 month's time the top 30 national teams in Europe will begin the penultimate stage of their campaigns to qualify for the 2003 European Championship for Men, 5-14 September in Borås, Luleå, Norrköping, Södertälje and Stockholm, Sweden.


The 30 teams have been divided into 5 groups of 6 teams from which the top 2 from each group, plus the 4 best-placed third placed teams, will qualify for the Final Round in Sweden. A total of 14 places are on offer with the final 2 berths filled by current European Champion Yugoslavia and host nation Sweden who qualify automatically for the event. Each team will play three games in November followed by a final 2 games in January.

The official tournament website has already been launched and offers the chance to follow all the action from the games in November right up to the start of the tournament in September 2003.

A certain number of tickets are already available for purchase on the website, which contains information on all the host cities, the arenas, volunteers as well as a sign-up section for those who want to get news and special offers delivered directly to their email inboxes or even mobile phones.
