FIBA Europe Head of Operations Miguel Betancor addresses participants at the XIX International Clinic of the ANJB

FIBA Europe Head of Operations Miguel Betancor was the star lecturer at the XIX International Clinic of the Portuguese Referee Association (ANJB), which took place this weekend in Praia de Penafirme.

The 19th edition of the established clinic was open to both national and international referees, as well as younger ones who are looking to cut their teeth and learn from the best before trying to make it on the big stage.

Mr Betancor's first lecture on Saturday, under the general title ‘Criterios', was an introductory analysis of the philosophy of officiating.

The second lecture of the day was delivered in the gym and consisted of a hands-on demonstration of Refereeing Mechanics.

On Sunday, Mr Betancor delivered a lecture on Game Management, with special emphasis given to the great importance that FIBA Europe places on this aspect in its bid to encourage all National Federations to focus on the improvement of officiating.
