Czluchow, Poland played host to 17 U14 girls and boys teams, playing out the European Youth Basketball League Superfinal from 2-4 May.

Eight girls' teams from Belarus, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia entered the competition in two groups of four, with every team playing two games a day and the cing off in the big final on Saturday.

The junior team of EuroLeague Women powerhouse Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje fell just short, finishing second in the group behind BS Liepaja from Latvia.

Sparta&K did claim third place in the small final while final was conducted by Gomelski Olimpic School Moscow and Liepaja.

The Moscow side around tournament MVP Valentina Kozkukhae proved too strong for the Latvian outfit and took the cup after a 68-38 triumph.

In the boys' tournament, nine teams from seven countries took the floor, with Lithuania sending three representatives.

It were not the teams from the Baltic basketball country however, that went on to compete in the final, but Virumaa PK Rakvere from Estonia and BC MuKi Helsinki from Finland who had separated themselves from the competition in the earlier rounds.

The Rakvere team displayed dominance in the final, behind 13 points of tournament MVP Stan Saaremael, shifting gears after a tight first quarter and winning 63-46.

Hosting team Pomerania 99 finished fifth, beatin Cherkhovskyi Yastrebi from Russia 79-68.

The teams were hosted by the Polish and Pomeranian Basketball Federation and included an opening ceremony for all attending teams the night before the first games as well as a closing and medal ceremony followed by a party for all attending teams.
