Krka Novo Mesto are making a habit of winning championships.

The club lost leading players and the coach that led the team to last year's EuroChallenge title, and while it had some struggles this season, Krka ended the year on a high with another domestic league title.

That was assured on Thursday night when Krka hit the road and won at rivals Union Olimpija, 67-57, to seal a 3-1 victory in the play-off finals.

Facing a one-point deficit heading into the last frame, KRKA turned on the afterburners and outscored their hosts 20-7 over the last 10 minutes for a convincing win.

Afik Nissim, a point guard with Israel's national team at last year's EuroBasket, had 18 points in the title-clinching success and was named MVP of the finals.

"We agreed that we had to play our fast game and that we couldn't fall to the (slower) pace of Union Olimpija, which makes us sleep," Krka's Slovenia international Zoran Dragic said.

The coach of Krka, Alexander Sekulic, hailed his players.

"Congratulations to the boys, the coaching staff and management team, which has brought us all together and supported us in difficult times, and also thanks to the wonderful Novo Mesto fans," Sekulic said.

"At the end of the season, it all paid off.

"I'm glad we won the title in Game 4."

Krka struggled in the Adriatic League with a 9-17 record and they reached the Last 16 of the Eurocup.

What the fans are talking about now, however, is their three-year winning streak in Slovenia.

All eyes are on Dragic, one of the country's leading players.

The 22-year-old guard can now put his feet up and reflect on a magnificent campaign, and a bright future.

"I am very happy with the title," he said.

"This may be my last game in the Krka jersey.

"For me, these have been two beautiful years in Novo Mesto.

"First, I'll take a little rest from basketball, then I think about the new season and join the national team."
