Great Britain international Pops Mensah-Bonsu made headlines at the end of the 2007-08 ACB campaign by joining Granada for their last game and leading them to an upset of Tau Ceramica that preserved their top flight status.
The high-flying power forward/center has decided to remain in Spain after agreeing to terms with DKV Joventut.
Still a clause was inserted into the deal that frees the player if an NBA team guarantees him a contract by July 22.
The 24-year-old had 22 points and nine rebounds in that victory for Granada over Tau at the end of the regular season. Tau would go on to win the ACB title.
Mensah-Bonsu's NBA rights are held by the Dallas Mavericks.
Nikagbatse Pens Napoli Deal
Napoli have signed Eyinmisan Nikagbatse, a former Germany international, on a one-year contract. Nikagbatse played at EuroBasket 2005, helping his homeland clinch the silver medal.

Bauermann On Kaman Learning Curve
Germany coach Dirk Bauermann is glad to have Chris Kaman in the line-up, but he admits the team's new American center has yet to get a grip on team tactics.
Kaman played for his adopted country (his great grandparents were German) for the first time on Tuesday in Germany's 104-68 triumph over Cape Verde at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens and had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
"Chris is an amazing player," Bauermann said, "yet he needs to find his rhythm and better learn the plays of the team.
"But, it is something that will improve in time."
Dirk Nowitzki poured in 16 to lead the Germans in the victory that put the team into the quarter-finals.
"We got some easy baskets from open shots and we played well on defense, too," Bauermann said.
"Everybody saw that our goal is to get to the Olympic Games and I believe that we can make it. We are satisfied with the win and now we are focusing on the game against New Zealand."
Germany will take on New Zealand on Wednesday to decide the winner of Group B.
Lakovic Reflects On Important Win
Slovenia players come and go, but there's never any doubt about the availability of point guard Jaka Lakovic.
The Barcelona star was outstanding on Tuesday in an 86-70 victory over Canada that clinched first place in Group C at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
The veteran carried Slovenia in the first quarter when he scored 16 of his 19 points.
"We played better than we did on the first day of the tournament (against Korea)," he said.
"We were more focused and highly motivated. We played basketball the way we know. We were in control from the first minute to the end of the game. We deserved to be the winners."
The games, he says, will only get tougher.
"We know that it's possible to face Greece in the semi-finals, but it's too early to think about that," he said.
"We are only thinking of the quarter-finals. Our goal is to earn a berth at the Beijing Games and we don't care who we have to beat: Canada, Puerto Rico or Greece. Whatever happened in the past against Greece has gone down in history."
Slovenia were thrashing Greece last year in the quarter-finals of the EuroBasket but suffered a late collapse and lost to crash out of medal contention.
