|Gregor Beugnot has steered Elan Chalon to a domestic treble in the most succesful season in club history|
Elan Chalon capped the best season in club history on Saturday with a 95-76 victory over Le Mans in the French Pro A play-off final in Paris.
Le Mans had beaten Nancy and Cholet to reach the title game, and they started well against Chalon.
But when Schilb hit back-to-back three-pointers late in the first quarter for a 16-11 lead, the favourites had the lead for good.
Schilb's third three-ball of the opening quarter stretched his team's lead to 22-13.
When Nicolas Lang connected from behind the arc midway through the second quarter to make it 38-18 in favour of Chalon, the rout was on.
Beugnot's side went on an 8-0 run to close the first half for a 49-25 lead.
There was no way back for a shell-shocked Le Mans.
They managed to close the gap to 14 points during the third quarter but Chalon extended their lead again and romped to victory.
Chalon have been lethal from long range all year long and Saturday was no exception.
The team that lost to Besiktas in the EuroChallenge Final hit 16 of 35 shots from behind the arc against Le Mans.
Schilb was four of six on his three-pointers.
