The current situation in European Basketball was the main topic of discussion in the recent visit of Alexander Krasnenkov, the President of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF), at the FIBA Europe Headquarters in Munich.

Krasnenkov, who was elected to the post of RBF in 2010, met with FIBA Europe President Olafur Rafnsson and Secretary General Kamil Novak in order to exchange information on a variety of topics and discuss plans about closer future cooperation.

The meeting of the two men with Krasnenkov came hot on the heels of the latest summit of the FIBA Europe leadership with some of the basketball's important stakeholders.

FIBA Europe and the RBF President share a concern about some recent developments which threaten to reduce the role of the National Federations.

FIBA Europe are planning a series of meetings in the first half of 2013 with a number of other influential stakeholders in an effort to further identify the issues within the sport which need to be addressed urgently.
