European Championship for U18 Men and Women Draws

Summer 2004 will see the top 24 teams in Europe in the U18 age category for men and women play for a European Championship.

The draw for both competitions will take place at 12:00 on Saturday 8th May in Zaragoza, Spain at the Pabellon Principe Felipe, which will also serve as the venue for the European Championship for U18 Men.

2004 European Championship for U18 Men

The European Championship for U18 Men will take place 9th – 18th July 2004 in Zaragoza, Spain. The following teams have qualified for the event and are listed according to their draw seeding. The seeding was made taking into account primarily each team’s performance in the Challenge Round and in case of a tie, the 2002 European Championship for U18 Men.

Seed 1 Serbia & Montenegro Greece
Seed 2 France Spain
Seed 3  Russia Turkey
Seed 4 Italy Bulgaria
Seed 5 Georgia Lithuania
Seed 6  Latvia  Israel

The teams will be drawn into 2 groups of 6 teams and will play round robin in the preliminary round. The top 4 teams will qualify to the direct elimination games. The format of the quarter-finals will be A1 v. B4, A2 v. B3, B1 v. A4 and B2 v. A3.

2004 European Championship for U18 Women

The European Championship for U18 Women will take place 9th – 18th July 2004 in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. The following teams have qualified for the event and are listed according to their draw seeding. The seeding was made taking into account primarily each team’s performance in the Challenge Round and in case of a tie, the 2002 European Championship for U18 Women.

Seed 3  Spain Belarus
Seed 4 Bulgaria Germany
Seed 5  Ukraine Israel
Seed 6  Hungary Turkey
