|Svetislav Pesic and his FECC lecturer colleagues have prepared plenty of material for the new FECC class|
While the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate (FECC) graduates of 2013 only collected their graduation plaques a few weeks ago in Tallinn, Estonia at the U20 European Championship, the new class is taking over the torch in Kyiv, Ukraine.
67 participants will find the way to the Ukrainian capital city, which hosts the inaugural week of lectures alongside the U16 European Championship.
Apart from 60 European coaches, as an innovation, FIBA Europe's coaching department has invited coaches from every other FIBA zone with seven coaches from the Africa, Americas and Asia zones happily taking up the invitation and joining their European colleagues.
Waiting for the students in Kyiv is a week of intense lectures, group word, discussions and studying of games at the U16 European Championship.
The basketball topics will once again be presented by legendary coach and FECC Mentor Svetislav Pesic, who will be joined by Janez Drvaric and Lucien Legrand, who have featured at several FECC editions before.
As a new member on the lecturer staff, Spanish coach Alejandro "Aito" Reneses will bring his immense experience of winning the Spanish ACB, the Spanish Cup and the Eurocup as well as coaching the Spanish national team to the table when he will give a lecture on "Who can be a coach? Career planning".
Besides pure basketball content, the lectures will feature related topics, presented by external experts.
Long time lecturer staff member Aysim Altay will be joined by new experts Dr. Johannes Scherr, Prof. Nenad Trunic and Brian Biagioli, who will be covering topics such as nutrition, anti-doping, pedagogics and selection of talent during the first week of the new FECC cycle.
