Serbia international Milan Macvan has sealed his move from Hemofarm Stada to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

A 21-year-old power forward that represented Serbia when the Blues won silver at the EuroBasket 2009 and finished fourth at this year's FIBA World Championship in Turkey, Macvan will be tied to Maccabi through the summer of 2015.

"When we set our goals as a team," Maccabi coach David Blatt said, "one of the main things that we wanted to do was to realize a vision for Maccabi that was not only inclusive of the next game, or the next month, but of the years to come of this organization.

"And by signing one of the great young talents in Europe, even at this stage of the year, I think we've lived up to that."

"I'll do my best to help the team have better results," Macvan said.

"We have a good chance in the Euroleague."

Maccabi, the giants of Israel and European champions on numerous occasions, have stormed out to an 8-1 start in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague this season.

"Now the record is 8-1 and we must continue like this," Macvan said.

"That's it. In Israel, we expect titles."

The departure of Macvan to Maccabi has left a gaping hole in the frontcourt of Hemofarm, who play at Asvel on Tuesday in the Eurocup.

Macvan was the club's leading scorer, rebounder and assists man.

He has averaged 17 points, eight boards and 3.8 assists per contest for Hemofarm.
