Estonia: Sokk To Combine Coaching Roles

Estonia coach Tiit Sokk has accepted an offer from the united team of Audentes and Nybit to work for them next season.

Sokk will coach the newly-created team in addition to his role with the national team and he believes his new position is just as important for Estonian basketball.

"Let's put it this way: there is a group of young people who need a boost," he told Postimees.

"We need our own players and there has not been enough of them lately. That is why we have been bringing around 20 players from abroad to play in our league."

Forty-year old Sokk will be joined by his national team assistant Ullar Kerde after turning down the opportunity to work with champions Ehitustooriist and TTU/A.Le because he wants to work with young players.

"If you set high aims for the team already in the first year, there could be too much inner pressure on the team and it could be hard to work with young people," Sokk added.
