|Tadas Klimavicius scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Zalgiris's triumph in the Baltic League Final|
Zalgiris Kaunas made the most of their home-court advantage and won the Baltic Basketball League Final Four over the weekend.
They clinched the title with a 75-64 triumph over VEF Riga on Sunday.
Tadas Klimavicius, one of the many Lithuanians taking part, had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Zalgiris as they won the trophy for the second year running.
VEF Riga, coached by former Lithuania boss Ramunas Butautas, were the surprise finalists after upsetting Lietuvos Rytas 79-68 in the semi-finals.
The Lietuvos Rytas management, meanwhile, was so disillusioned by the performance of their team against VEF that they parted with coach Aleksandar Trifunovic.
Darius Maskoliunas, who was fired as Zalgiris coach during last year's LKL Finals, has been promoted from his position as assistant to head coach of Lietuvos Rytas.
The move was made despite Lietuvos Rytas having bounced back to beat Ventspils in the third-place game at the Baltic Basketball League Final Four.
"While working as an assistant you know that day may come when you need to replace the head coach to take over the team," Maskoliunas said on the club's official website, "either temporarily or for a longer period of time.
"Nothing has happened that surprised me.
"Yes, we played badly, the club's owners made the change and I am going to keep working."
