BC Minsk-2006 made sure they finished their 2011-12 campaign on a high by capturing the home title in Belarus with a 97-74 romp over Grodno-93 in the title game.

Aliaksandr Kudrautsau had 21 points in the championship clash.

Minsk made a lot of headlines this year and not just for their efforts on the domestic front.

The team battled back from a 94-78 first-leg defeat to Sokhumi in the Qualifying Round of the EuroChallenge by winning the second meeting 97-63 to clinch a spot in the competition.

Once in the Regular Season, Minsk stunned Telekom Baskets 79-71 in their opener and then shocked Pinar Karsiyaka, 105-103.

Their luck ran out in Europe, though, with four straight defeats to follow.

They ended up the Regular Season with a 3-3 record following a 78-76 victory over Turk Telekom but that wasn't good enough to advance to the Last 16.

In the VTB United League, Minsk won just one of their 16 games to finish bottom of Group B.

In Belarus, though, Minsk clinched a first-place finish in the standings with a 29-1 record and went into the post-season as the hot favorites.

They beat Minski-2006 II in the last four, 87-76, and in the title game, they opened up a 28-19 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back to thump Grodno-93.
