UMMC Ekaterinburg rolled to victory in the Russian Cup Final on Thursday with a 92-72 win over Nadezhda.

Playing in front of their own fans, UMMC started strong and had a 30-18 lead by the end of the first quarter but were only on top 52-44 by half-time.

Algirdas Paulauskas' side, which has qualified for the EuroLeague Women Final Eight, went back into a double-digit lead after the restart and pulled away for a decisive triumph.

France international Sandrine Gruda had 19 points, Deanna Nolan 18 and Candace Parker 17 for the winners, while Maria Stepanova contributed 15.

UMMC also got a big lift from a couple of other prominent players with Sue Bird scoring nine points and Hana Horakova eight.

Bird didn't lead the team in scoring but, as usual, had control of the game at point guard and was named MVP of the event.

The USA international won a host of titles as the starting point guard for Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje the previous five campaigns before deciding to play for UMMC after the conclusion of last season.

Nadezhda, who beat Sparta&K in the Semi-Finals, got 15 points apiece from Katie Douglas and Natalia Zhedik.

In the battle for third place, Sparta&K, who also are playing at the EuroLeague Women Final Eight, thumped Dynamo Kursk, 90-62.

Marina Kuzina scored 20 points for Sparta&K.

Dynamo Kursk will play in the EuroCup Women Final against Kayseri Kaskispor.
