'Now it's time to go out and celebrate,' was Besiktas coach Ergin Ataman's last directions to his players after a long but very rewarding season

Besiktas Milangaz put the finishing touches on one of the greatest seasons in Turkish basketball history by winning the Beko Basketbol Ligi title.

The Istanbul outfit completed a Turkish Cup, EuroChallenge and domestic league treble on Monday night with an 80-76 victory over Anadolu Efes.

The triumph gave Ergin Ataman's team a 4-2 series victory.

Carlos Arroyo, who had his struggles this season after joining the club in late December, capped a terrific play-off performance with 18 points.

The Puerto Rico international averaged 16 points per game during the title series against Efes.

Arroyo also had 23 points in the Game 4 triumph over regular season winners Galatasaray that clinched a spot in the finals.

Besiktas, who won the EuroChallenge after beating Elan Chalon in the final on 29 April, defeated Fenerbahce in the first round of the Turkish play-offs.

"It's time to go out and celebrate because it is not easy to win three titles in one season," Ataman said, "especially when you are playing against top-ranked Euroleague teams.

"We not only did a great job tonight but rewrote Besiktas JK's basketball history."

It's been a long time coming for Besiktas in Turkey, who last captured the domestic league crown in 1975.

Ersin Dagli and Zoran Erceg each had 15 points and both David Hawkins and Pops Mensah-Bonsu weighed in with 10.
